About Us

Having recently joined Honest Abe Log Homes as dealers, we are, however, not new to log homes. My wife, Sandy, grew up living in a 200-year-old log home. I grew up living down the road from one. We both saw the allure of living in a log home and decided we wanted to build one for ourselves. We started Geibcraft for this reason, and in September of 1983 we started construction. We also found out we were expecting our third child at the same time. Sandy wouldn't let it stop her though. She was right there doing what she could do to help, along with our oldest daughter Missy and our son Mark. By mid-January we had moved in. In Febuary, our youngest son Matt was born. Over 20 years and two additions to our log home, we raised our family in our log home. In 2004, as empty nesters, we decided to downsize to a conventional stick-built home. Believe me, once you live in a log home, you can't go back. We miss living in a log home so much that we are currently working on plans to build a new one. This is what led us to Honest Abe. We will be experiencing the same journey that you as a potential customer will. We will also experience first hand what it will take to get you into the log home of your dreams. Services

The 20 years we spent in our log home we were a builder/dealer for another log home manufacturer. In those years we sold and/or built many log homes earning their Rookie of the year award in 1984 and their Dealer of the Year award in 1994. I've also spent many years working in the custom cabinetry business and doing finish carpentry for a conventional home builder.
